Avé is an expression of greeting or leave-taking as in hail or farewell. The expression is my salute and recognition of the animal.

The Avé named enamels are usually made with the symbol of the house shape. The house represents shelter and sanctuary. The house format surrounds or enshrines the center animal giving it honor and a shrine like quality to the piece.
